Touch'd Review & Giveaway

I am so pleased to share my experience of a quality product from the new line founded by Rachel Ferrucci, Touch’d. Rachel researched and read every book she could find on natural oils and how they would benefit the needs of her family. Now she is sharing her skin care creations with us! I just love supporting businesses created by a fellow mom.

I have sensitive skin so I’m always looking for products that will clean, or moisturize, without making me itchy. I was so happy to find Touch’d Bath Butter in “Tropical Paradise”. I’m not normally a sweet, fruity gal but this scent is just enough to make you go “Yummmmm” and not give you a headache. It takes a small amount of the bath butter to create a huge lather while using a body scrub. The bath butter can also lather up enough to be used as a shave cream, the moisterizing lather won’t dry your skin.

In addition to the Bath Butter the Touch’d line also includes: Organic Sugar Scrub, Moisture Myst, and a Foaming Salt Soak. All products are 100% organic

If you would like to try any, or all, of the products that Rachel Ferrucci has created for her Touch’d skin care line you can find the products at http://touchd.net/. Receive 25% off your total with Promo Code: AnnAgain.

Or, if you would like the chance to win one lovely bottle of Moisture Myst in your choice of scent, here’s what you need to do:

(*I was given a jar of Bath Butter to review. It’s lovely, really)

You're Not The Boss Of Me – Book Review and Giveaway

The first time I heard my daughter say to me, “You’re not the boss of me!” I laughed. Which, of course, was not her goal and sent her into more of a fit. I quietly reminded her, ‘Yes Honey. Yes I am.’ Isn’t being a parent fun?!?

As a parent I’m always looking for resources that will help me understand my “job” a little better. I want to have tools that will guide my children in a positive direction which, I hope, will make life easier for all involved and create wonderful human beings in the process.

My latest find is the book “You’re Not The Boss Of Me: Brat Proofing Your 4 to 12 Year Old Child” by Betsy Brown Braun. She hits the major points of child behavior, and instructs on how to avoid what could be a stressful situation to a scene of respect and positive learning experiences.

There is humor in her writing which draws me in immediately. Parenting can be a tough road and laughter is the best way to release stress, yelling just makes everyone feel bad in the end.

If you would like to purchase “You’re Not The Boss Of Me: Brat Proofing Your 4 to 12 Year Old Child” by Betsy Brown Braun, this book is available through Amazon.com and other booksellers.

***Giveaway Closed. Congratulations Keria at “Keria Leigh Designs”! ***

Champion's Science Adventures Summer Camp

I always feel anxious when summer comes around. It’s not that I don’t love hanging out with my kids, it’s that I know I can’t be full-time director of summer activities. It’s exhausting! That’s why I was happy to find Champions Summer Science Adventure Camps.

Champions Science Adventure day camps are available for student’s ages 5 to 12 years throughout the summer, at participating recreation facilities, parks, and schools nationwide. The camps are designed to inspire curiosity about how the world works while instilling a love of learning about science through interactive, hands-on experiments and activities.

This year’s four camps are Mystery of the Pharaoh’s Treasure, Go Wild, Gizmo’s Robot Factory and Space & Rocketry. Champion’s Science Adventure day camps offers webisodes of the different options which helped my daughter immensely . Her favorite was “Go Wild”. You can find that webisode and more here: http://www.youtube.com/user/scienceadventures

Each camp is one-week long with half-day and full-day options. You can enroll your child online at www.scienceadventures.com. You have the option to register for all four exciting camps, or just one program. (Camp program fees and schedules vary by location.) And if you use the promotional code “summerscience10” and you can save $50 on a week of summer camp!

My daughter is really looking forward to her time at Champion’s Science Adventure camp. And I’m thrilled to have found something that will balance learning and fun. Sounds like a great way to spend the summer to me!

(Disclosure: I was offered a certificate for my child to attend one Champion’s half-day camp in exchange for this post)
