My path to healthier eating and correct portion size starts today.  I’m using The Digest Diet by Liz Vaccariello.



I read about this plan in Reader’s Digest and was intrigued.  Eat foods that help release fat storage?  OK.   I looked over the foods and the recipes and they sounded, well, normal.  I kept thinking, ‘I could do this!’  And with the way I’ve been feeling lately, I need to do this.

My book arrived yesterday and I immediately made a grocery list.  For days 1 – 4 I found all the smoothie and soup ingredients at my closest Fred Meyer (Kroger for some of you).  I’ve had my first smoothie of the day, a delicious combo of Strawberry Almond.

OK – Here are my basic stats:  Height – 5’10″.  Weight:  181 lbs.  Let’s see where I’m at next Wednesday  (April 4th).

    I’m curious why the program is close to $40 now and is being offered at a pre-order price at B&N for $13 (book being released in Sept.) Ugh!!!! Why can’t they just release it now:-)

  3. Now that you are one year into it, where do you stand?

    • My husband and I continue to use the recipes and spice recommendations that are included in this book. If we’re feeling a bit “of track” we start the day with the smoothies. There’s really good info. in this book.
