The Honest Kitchen – Healthy Dehydrated Pet Food
While my family settles into the new year, we are not only recovering from a very busy season of celebrating the holidays and hosting 3 birthday parties (whew!) we are also helping our dear Chocolate Lab Benny recover from ingesting 4 pounds of chocolate. Yes, 4 pounds! One evening, while attending a gathering, we mistakenly left a 4 lbs. bag of M&M’s too low to the ground and Benny devoured it by the time we returned. Benny spent Christmas day in the pet hospital and, with great care and attention, he is home and returning to his happy spirit. What a scare!!!
His diet is gradually re-introducing the foods he should be eating, and he is responding very well. We were offered the opportunity to try dog treats from The Honest Kitchen and Benny is enjoying his treats and his system is responding very well. It’s nice to see his tail wagging again!
As per the information that was sent along with our review sample, The Honest Kitchen uses a dehydrated process to naturally preserve the ingredients without the need for chemicals of any kind. Dehydration is a gentle technique that removes only the moisture and retains most natural nutrients found in fresh, raw, whole food ingredients. All ingredients are 100% human-grade, made in the USA and contain no corn, soy, rice, beet pulp or wheat. All meats are hormone and antibiotic free, fruits and vegetables are certified non-GMO, and grains are 100% organic. Additionally, every box of food is made with love, in a human food facility in Illinois (not in a pet food plant) for the highest possible quality standards. Humans actually taste every ingredient that goes into these recipes as part of the product development process.

Our family looks forward to many, many more years with our sweet Benny (a.k.a. Banjo. a.k.a. Benjamin Thatcher Harrison). We hope he’s learned his lesson that, although he’s classified as a Chocolate Labrador, that doesn’t give him permission to actually ingest chocolate. Enjoy The Honest Kitchen instead! :->
(*Disclaimer: As stated in my post, we were given a bag of treats from The Honest Kitchen to facilitate this review.)
