A new year has begun and, perhaps, a healthier eating plan has started for you as well. We know that smoothie’s are a great way to get your nutrition, necessary vitamins and antioxidants in one fell swoop but maybe your not sure what to put in it to get more bang for your buck. Here’s a great recipe to get you one your way!
My daughter’s are getting into the smoothie groove and with this recipe to guide them I won’t have to hear “Mom, what do I put in the blender again?” Here you go girls! Now they can create something that will not only feed their bodies but their brains as well. Win – win!
Lets make the perfect smoothie – Most tend to have combination of these steps:
a) Make it creamy by adding a nut butter such as peanut, almond, chia or some other combination
b) Fortify with a protein powder
c) Add in a liquid component – juice, milk, almond milk, soy milk
d) Add some greens – an avocado, spinach, kale or lettuce
e) Add some fruits – fresh or frozen such as blueberries, strawberries, apples etc.
