When ever Rob and I get a chance we hop a quick flight and visit our heaven on Earth – The Napa Valley. 10 years ago we discovered the glory of the Napa Valley and almost get giddy with each return trip.  It’s just so-o-o beautiful and... it’s such fun tasting delicious, well-crafted wines.  With this trip we were treated to a lovely 3-course dinner on the Napa Valley Wine Train, a staple of Napa Valley history and one of the Nation’s only active historical passenger railroads.

Napa Valley Wine Train pt 1

We began our 3 hour trip enjoying a glass of Grgigh Hills Chardonnay.  While waiting for our appetizers of bread and cheese, fruit and compote, our waiter gave us the OK to head to the tasting car.  This turned out to be a good arrangement due to the fact that we had the Wine Educator all to ourselves!  The very accommodating staff brought our appetizers to us and we nibbled, listened and learned more about wine.  (What I was describing as “sweet” is actually “fruit forward”.  Good to know ;-> )

Napa Valley Wine Train pt 2

You will be steeped in Napa Valley history and surrounded by the glory of the valley while being educated on wine, wine/food pairings and meeting people from all over the world on the Napa Valley Wine Train.  You have your choice of enjoying a lovely lunch, or an elegant dinner.  Price packages range from $124.00 – $199.00 (per person) for a lunch package, dinner selections range from $124.00 – $199.00 per person.  Or, you can choose a dinner plus winery tour package with prices ranging from $179.00 – $234.00.

Checking Out The Chrysler 200 Sedan. Have YOU Had The Chrysler Experience?

Have You Had The Chrysler Experience? Check Out The 2015 200 Sedan

I had an opportunity to take part in The Chrysler Experience and test drive the redesigned 2015 Chrysler 200 Sedan.  I was accompanied by my mom who loves cars.  (She could probably be an auto mechanic if she had the time in her busy “retirement” schedule!)  I knew she would appreciate talking with someone who shares her enthusiasm for a well built engine.  I’m pretty much into the bright and shiny “toys” of a car, ‘What does this button do?  What about that one?’   The Chrysler 200 Sedan looked sleek and the functions were fancy and fun!  Rob, I think we need a new car :->

As I closed the door I felt as if I was sitting in a command center.  A bright and cozy command center.  Very comfortable seats with enough head room for this 5’10” – long torso’d person.  When I asked for the key the Rep. directed me to a button. “While in Park, push this button and the car will start”, said the very helpful Meagan.   Nice!  The 2015 Chrysler Sedan is the only car in its class to offer a nine-speed automatic transmission.  The 7-Inch customizable driver information display feature caught my attention with it’s full-color graphics and real time information.  And a personal bonus was a pass-through storage area under the console that’s accessible by the driver and front-seat passenger.  It fit my huge purse perfectly!

Here’s something else that was MUCH appreciated:

On this day in particular the latest feature of air-conditioned seats was great!  It was 90 degrees and cool air emanating from the seats was a very welcome surprise.  This sedan comes with a rear-view monitor in the dash, along with guides to help you align with parallel parking which is something I definitely need help with.  (Thank goodness parallel parking wasn’t on my drivers’ test.)  Yay for help with parallel parking!  Check out this short video that will show you all of the interior design features:

When I was done with my test drive my mom took a turn behind the wheel.  She was more interested in talking about what the Chrysler 200 Sedan could do then drive it for herself.  No problem!  The very helpful Rep. Megan was more than ready to answer mom’s questions.  The 2.4L Tigershark® MultiAir® II four-cylinder engine provides up to 36 highway mpg.  the All-New 2015 Chrysler 200 has more available horsepower than Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Malibu.

If you are interested in the Chrysler 200 Sedan visit a dealer near you and take a test drive.  Come back and let me know what you think.

Simplify Your Life – My Green Fills Laundry Soap – The Last Jug You'll Ever Own!

When it comes to doing laundry you have a plastic jug that holds your choice of liquid, powder or pods.  When it’s empty you buy another jug, then another, etc.  All of those plastic jugs adding to the landfill.  Not good!  So not good!  I’ve recently been introduced to a company that has not only a powerful laundry cleaner but they also have created refills in rice paper pouches.  One jug and done!  And… it can be delivered right to your door!  It’s Selestial’s My Green Fills – The Last Jug You Will Ever Own.

My Green Fills

Effectiveness of the product is the first thing I look for then I go for the price.  I feel My Green Fills is a great deal – it works and the price is right.  To begin, you purchase the jug (the last jug you will ever own!) and the soap to clean 50 loads of laundry.  The initial cost is $12.00.  When time comes for more product the refill costs $5.00 – $8.00 (with the convenient auto-ship option) or $9.00 for individual pouches.  There’s no shipping & handling charge either!  And I’m not adding another plastic jug to the landfill!

My Green Fills 5

Selestial was founded by Ruth Smith – “I was living the ‘green life’ before green was cool.”  She created the My Green Fills product line because some of her children suffered from severe skin allergies. “The only ‘green washed’ off-the-shelf options were expensive and ineffective, so I made my own.”  My Green Fills are 100% naturally non-toxic and hypoallergenic.  Check out the ingredient list:  Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Bi-Carbonate, Sodium Chloride, Tetra Sodium Salt, Sodium Citrate, and LOTS OF LOVE!

My Green Fill product line includes:  Laundry Soap, Enzyme Stain Remover, Color-Safe Brightener and Fabric Softner.  I’ve found these product very easy to use, effective against tough stains, safe for sensitive skin and good for our planet.  Win – win all around.  Check out My Green Fills by clicking www.MyGreenFills.com and read more about the company and how you can order your product today.

5 Tips To Rid Mosquitoes In Your Yard

5 Tips To Rid Mosquitoes In Your Yard - AnnAgainandagainReviews.com

Ah yes, the rain clouds have passed and the sunshine has hung around for a couple of days.  Time for yard work then enjoying the natural beauty of the yard.  But *smack* these darn *smack* mosquitoes are driving me crazy!  (I’m allergic to them so that makes it even worse.)  After researching natural ways to rid these highly annoying pests here are some tips I’ve found the most useful:

  • Plant Marigolds – The bright marigold not only add nice splashes of color to your garden borders or potted plants, it also gives of a scent which repels mosquitoes.  Marigolds contain Pyrethrum, a compound used in many insect repellents.
  • Dump Standing Water – mosquito larvae can exist in as little as 2 tablespoons of standing water. Children’s toys are the #1 culprits (here’s looking at you sand pails and water tables!)  These pests can develop in any size puddle that has been around for 4 days.  I know it’s convenient to keep a pail of water near your plants for quicker watering, but know that this also enables the creation and housing for the nasty mosquito.
  • Eliminate Decaying Foliage From Ground – Not only is removing fallen leaves from the yard better for your grass, it will eliminate a breeding ground for mosquitoes.   Fallen leaves, over time, create mold and/or fungus and mosquitoes love that stuff!  Mold/fungus is sought after meal for the mosquito so it’s best to remove leaves, branches, any plant from your yard that isn’t living.
  • Fill Your Pond With Mosquito Eating Fish – Stock any ornamental ponds with guppies, koi, or goldfish (most healthy, hungry fish will eliminate the majority of mosquito larvae from ponds).
  • Remove Debris (a.k.a. Tires) From Yard– The used tire has become the most important domestic mosquito producer in this country.  If you’ve done a little automotive repair, and have kept “Take tire to recycling center” on your To-Do List too long, now’s the time to take it away and check it off your list.

These are a few tips that I hope will help you rid your yard of the highly annoying mosquito so that you can enjoy your time in the comfort and beauty of your own backyard.

9 Easy and Affordable Mother's Day Ideas

9 Easy and Affordable Mother's Day Gift Ideas - Ann Again and again Reviews

Not only can money not buy happiness it also isn’t needed for the perfect gift.  Really!  With the following clever ideas I’m sure you can create a lovely gift for Mother’s Day that will bring a smile to her face and joy to her heart.

  1. Gift chore coupons*. Create a handmade coupon book for your mom to use when she needs a break. Each voucher is good for a different chore. You could offer to do the dishes, vacuum, take the dog for a walk, wash her car, or make dinner. (*Ahem, children of mine?  I really like this idea.  I like it a lot.)

  1. Schedule time together. Give your mom the gift of time. The activity is less important than spending quality time together to talk and reconnect.  Go for a nature walk, check out a neighborhood garden or park.  Treat her to dinner, a cultural event like a ballet or play, or take her to the spa.  Just time for you and your mom, make memories.

  1. Call her via Skype. You can still connect even if you aren’t able to visit your mom on Mother’s Day. Use FaceTime or Skype to get some one-on-one time from far away. She’d love to catch up and see your smiling face.

  1. Make it a party. If your mom loves to socialize, throw a Mother’s Day party. Coordinate with friends or neighbors to celebrate their moms too. Your mom will be able to spend time with friends and enjoy her special day.  (You do all the clean-up too.)

  1. Handwrite a Mother’s Day card. Store-bought cards lack the personalized emotion of a handwritten note. Write a letter to your mom and share a picture and a special memory. Let her know how much you care and how much you love her.

  1. Make a family photo book. Gather photos of your entire family. If possible, reach out to extended family for their pictures. Then create a photo album or scrapbook filled with memories. Add your favorite quotes or family sayings for a personal touch.

  1. Make her breakfast. Whip up your favorite recipes and invite the entire family to spend a meal together. If you’re cooking skills are not up to par, host a potluck dinner or brunch or order takeout.

These next two ideas do require kicking it up a notch in the “spending” department, it’s up to you what amount:

  1. Create a custom gift basket. You know what your mother loves. Think of all the things she’d never buy for herself. Create a goodie basket filled with gourmet coffees, teas and assorted snacks.

  1. Gift personalized jewelry. Instead of generic earrings, have the names of all your mother’s children inscribed on a necklace or pendant. Or, create a charm bracelet. Handpick charms that represent memories from your childhood or your mom’s favorite hobbies. One year my siblings and I gave my mom a ring adorned with five sapphire stones. Each stone represented each of her five children.

With these ideas I’m sure you’ll create a lovely day for your Mother and the other special women in your life.  Cheers!
