5 Great Kids Birthday Gift Ideas

If you are having a hard time deciding on what gift you will give to a kid – your child, nephew, niece or godchild on his or her birthday, then you’ve come to the right place! Surely, at the end of this article, you will be able to finally decide on what gift to share.Check out – 5 Great Kids Birthday Gift Ideas.

For kids, birthday gifts aren’t just for their entertainment or use, it is also a representation of your love and attention to them. By giving a gift that you know they will like very much, kids will surely be more motivated and happy. They begin to see that you understand their interests, that you pay attention to them. That is why always think about the gift that you will give as it can greatly benefit the kid in ways that you don’t even realize. And without further ado, here are 5 great gifts for your kid’s birthday.

1.) Books

There are still kids that love to read books!  They aren’t always “glued” to electronics – trust me.  (Ex. Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Warrior Cat series, etc.)  Getting them a fun book will be the best birthday gift. Try choosing a thought provoking book, that is also fun and enjoyable. This way, you will not just be giving them a source of happiness but also guide them into a world of imagination.

2.) Latest Game

Playing is very important for kids, it is still the most effective recreational activity to promote their positive mood and restore their motivation. As long as you can control their playing time and exposure to video games, then getting the latest game as their birthday gift will surely make them happy. (And you can probably play together!)

3.) Stylish and Trendy Clothes

One of the safest and famous birthday gifts are definitely clothes. While they may seem easy and less impactful, a very stylish and trendy set of clothes might just end up as their favorite birthday gift if you get their current tastes right. Today, kids are very easily influenced by their favorite super hero or anime characters, if you get them clothes with their favorite character on it, then they’ll definitely like it. In fact, I bet that once they see it, they will automatically wear it the next time they change clothes.

4.) Shoes

Shoes are very practical birthday gifts, it is a necessity for kids. However, you need to be very careful on what type of shoes you need to get for them. Kids also love to brag about their brand new shoes to their friends, therefore, you need to give them the style that they like. If they are a Golden State Warriors fan, then a Curry shoe must be your gift. If you give them a LeBron or Kyrie instead, then expect it to be stored on the shelf for a very long time as they will most likely never wear it. (Think of it as a prize or trophy.)

5.) Electric Scooters

  1. With the emergence of electric scooters, kids today will not tire themselves from just kicking the ground in order to gain speed in their scooters. If they like to play outdoors with their friends, then getting them an electric scooter with a low top speed will surely make their birthday the best. However, make sure that you buy the safety gear along with the electric scooter to give your kid the protection they need. You can check for the top electric scooter models at this site: https://parentsneed.com/top-5-best-electric-scooters-for-kids-under-10/

5 Ways To Safeguard Kids’ Devices From Predators

5 Easy Ways To Safeguard Kids' Tech Devices From Predators

New apps pop up almost every day, and *bam* every single one of your kid¹s friends and classmates are using this bright and shiny new toy and… you find out, so is your child. The app looks age appropriate and harmless to you, however predators find ways to infiltrate and exploit. Yes, you check your child’s phone, computer or tablet on a regular basis to make sure no inappropriate content is being sent to them. However, there are other steps parents need to take to safeguard their children. See below: 5 ways to safeguard kids’ tech devices from predators.

One common mistake parents make is allowing their children to create a username that incorporates their name, information about their age and location or interests. These small pieces of data are enough for a predator to start piecing together a profile of a child and give predators tools that can be used to find more information to manipulate kids. By following these simple guidelines, parents can help make sure online predators are not targeting their children.

  1. Stop Kids from Duplicating Usernames – Just like recycling a password is a bad idea kids should not use the same username to log into different online accounts. Having one common username across accounts just makes it easier for criminals to search for and find details about a child’s life.
  2. Keep Personal Details Private – If an app or website requires kids to fill out a profile do not let them enter personally identifying details like their full name, birthdate, age or address. If they cannot use a site without supplying these details either supply a false answer to the questions or do not allow your child to use that site/app.
  3. Email Addresses and Usernames Do Not Mix – Linking a username with an email address can simplify a predator’s search for personal information. Using trial and error a criminal can add common email providers to a username, run a search and pull up social media accounts and any other sites where an email address was used to create a profile.
  4. Create Unique Email Addresses for Each App/Site – Some email providers including Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo allow users to alter their email address into infinite number of disposable addresses. For example if your child’s email address is shauntips@gmail.com and he/she wants to sign up for a new gaming site you can alter his/her email address just for that site by adding an identifier to it such as shauntips+ABCGamingFun@gmail.com. This keeps your child’s actual email address private and can help stop criminals from being able to track online history simply by searching for an email address.
  5. Stay Vigilant – Regularly checking what apps your child is using and what websites are being visited is the first line of defense. If anything looks suspicious or if you are unsure what something is, ask your child. If he/she cannot explain to your satisfaction what the app is then delete it and block it.

10 Halloween Etiquette Tips And Tricks

10 Halloween Etiquette Tips & Tricks - Ann Again and again Reviews

It’s time for scary costumes, carving pumpkins, candy and trick or treating.  As Halloween approaches, there are somethings parents and children need to remember.  10 Halloween Etiquette Tips & Tricks:

–        Select Appropriate Costumes: Costumes that represent a culture, race, ethnic or religious group or someone with a serious illness, poverty or other hardship, are inappropriate.  Sexually explicit costumes and those mocking LGBT or gender identity encourage negativity. During this election year, our public political figures are certainly on the table; expect to see Clinton and Trump.

–        Teach Your Kids Manners: Halloween is a great opportunity to teach your kids manners, such as greeting and thanking each homeowner who gives them candy. Explain to older kids and teenagers that bullying and pushing smaller kids out of the way won’t be tolerated. When they encounter a bowl of candy at the door, make sure they are considerate and only take one or two pieces.  Be sure they respect private property, including homeowner decorations, and don’t leave unwanted candy or wrappers in lawns.

–        Age Appropriateness: While many adults enjoy Halloween dress up, remember this is mostly a children’s holiday.  What your teenager might wear, is not a good fit for a first-grade Halloween party.  Gage the costume based on your child’s age, and the age of his or her peers. Even if you think your young child might be able to handle dressing up as Freddy Krueger, it might be too much for his or her friends.

10 Halloween Etiquette Tips & Tricks - Ann Again and again Reviews

–         Candy Alternatives: Traditional chocolate or sugar-laced candy are always a hit. With more health conscious parents, consider sealed mini bottled water, pre-packaged popcorn, coloring books, pre-packaged healthy snacks, small inexpensive toys, or pens/pencils.

–        Respect Neighbors Who Aren’t Participating: By simply turning off the outside lights, this alerts trick or treaters to skip your house and go on to the next.  As an option, consider leaving a bowl of candy by the front door.  Putting the car in the garage may also remove the question of whether someone is home.

–        Knock One Time and One Time Only: If no one answers, move on to the next house.  There’s no need to be excessive and knock 10 times. The homeowner might be on an important call or trying to help a baby to sleep. On a related note: know when it’s appropriate to knock. Trick or treating generally starts just before sunset and ends by 9pm.  10 Halloween Etiquette Tips & Tricks - Ann Again and again Reviews

–        No Homemade Treats: While it’s a nice thought to want to bake homemade Halloween treats, don’t do it.  Parents have heightened safety concerns for good reason, and will discard these items.  Buy pre-packaged candy from trusted brands like Hershey, M&M, Skittles, Dove, Reese’s.

–        Never Arrive Empty Handed: Anyone invited to a Halloween party, does not arrive empty handed.  Bring a small hostess gift such as tea towels, diffuser, candle, coasters, fresh fruit, wine, packaged sweets, or children’s game.

–        Office & School Policies: Office culture varies, so be sure to research your workplace policy. Ask a trusted colleague about the ‘unwritten rules.’ Some offices encourage tasteful costumes, while others frown upon the practice.  Education policies vary, so don’t assume children may wear their costumes to school.  In many school districts across the nation, costumes are prohibited for safety reasons. Double check and don’t assume.

–         Stay Safe: Younger children should always be accompanied by parents or a designated chaperone. Older children and teens should trick or treat as part of a group.  Never enter someone’s home you don’t know, no matter how nice they seem.  Carry a flashlight and mobile phone.  Follow your intuition and if you have a bad feeling about something, avoid it.

Age Appropriate Chores For Kids

Age Appropriate Chores For Younger Kids - Ann Again and again Reviews

It’s wise to start teaching children to help around the house with assigned chores when they’re young.  It doesn’t need to be perceived as a punishment, taking care of the home you live in is a blessing!  Think about it, you have a home.  Show your children that cleaning is taking pride in your surroundings and yourself.  (I’m still working on having my teenager understand this *ahem*  Oh boy! ).  Below you’ll find a chart to help guide you to Age Appropriate Chores For Kids.  Print it out and post it in your home!

Of course, a child’s age doesn’t really define what chores are appropriate, but it can give a starting guideline. The physical, developmental, and emotional age of a child all make a difference. So be prepared to adapt the list.

Make it fun and don’t expect perfection.

After all, you want to encourage chore activities, not make your child(ren) frustrated or resentful. The more kids accept doing chores when young, the better the chance they will cooperate when older.

You can find more helpful guidelines and printable charts at Association for Comprehensive Neurotherapathy – ACN Latitudes:  http://latitudes.org/ .

In addition to its Free Pancakes for Kids promotion, Denny’s has partnered with No Kid Hungry® in September to raise money to help end childhood hunger.

To-date, Denny’s has been able to donate more than $3.3 million to No Kid Hungry and will look to make an even greater impact for the cause this year with the support of its team members and guests. This year, Denny’s will also donate $1 to No Kid Hungry every time the hashtag #ShareMySlam is shared on Twitter and Instagram, giving guests another way to help this important cause.

Denny’s delicious pancakes — now with 50 percent more fluffy goodness, made with fresh buttermilk, real eggs and a hint of vanilla — are featured throughout the kids menu and for the first time are offered in variety of new kid-sized signature dishes, including the Jr. Cinnamon Pancakes, Jr. Strawberries & Cream Pancakes and Chocolate Chip Pancakes. Kids ages 10 and under can enjoy Denny’s pancakes in any of these dishes for free every day in September from 4-10 p.m. with the purchase of one adult entrée at participating locations.

“Sharing ‘My Strength’s No Kid Hungry’ program is one of the most recognizable annual anti-hunger campaigns in the nation and we’re proud to have the ability to partner with this worthy organization for the sixth year in a row,” said Dillon. “At Denny’s, we know a meal is essential to a child’s well-being and can be directly linked to their academic, health and economic futures. We remain committed to working together with our team members and guests to combat childhood hunger and hope to see even more success this year.”

Now through Oct. 2, nearly 1,600 Denny’s restaurants nationwide will join the fight to end childhood hunger with all proceeds going directly to No Kid Hungry. Through No Kid Hungry, every $1 donation received provides a child with 10 healthy meals, making even the smallest of donations impactful. To thank guests for their generous donations, Denny’s will provide a discount coupon redeemable at participating locations upon their next visit.

This year, Denny’s will also donate $1 to No Kid Hungry every time the hashtag #ShareMySlam is shared on Twitter and Instagram, giving guests another way to help this important cause. Guests may also contribute to the campaign with a monetary donation of their choice at dennysnokidhungry.com.

5 Easy Ways To Safeguards Kids Tech Devices From Predators - Ann Again and again Reviews

New apps pop up seemingly out of nowhere.  Although my job is working with social media, I find myself caught unaware. My daughters will be laughing at something they’re sharing on their phones and when I glide over to check out what it’s all about I discover they’re on an app I’ve never heard of.  What the heck! Being vigilant is a busy job, but when it comes to social media and our children, it’s a necessary job.  So, what about this app that has my daughters cracking up?  The app looks age appropriate and harmless, but predators find ways to infiltrate and exploit. It is important to check your child’s phone, computer or tablet on a regular basis to make sure no inappropriate content is being sent to them. But, there are other steps parents need to take to safeguard their children.

Stop Kids from Duplicating Usernames – Just like recycling a password is a bad idea kids should not use the same username to log into different online accounts. Having one common username across accounts just makes it easier for criminals to search for and find details about a child’s life.

Keep Personal Details Private – If an app or website requires kids to fill out a profile do not let them enter personally identifying details like their full name, birthdate, age or address. If they cannot use a site without supplying these details either supply a false answer to the questions or do not allow your child to use that site/app.

Stay Vigilant – Regularly checking what apps your child is using and what websites are being visited is the first line of defense. If anything looks suspicious or if you are unsure what something is, ask your child. If he/she cannot explain to your satisfaction what the app is then delete it and block it.

Email Addresses and Usernames Do Not Mix – Linking a username with an email address can simplify a predator’s search for personal information. Using trial and error a criminal can add common email providers to a username, run a search and pull up social media accounts and any other sites where an email address was used to create a profile.

If you have advice on how to keep our children safe while using tech devices please share in the comments below.  Thank you!

Please take a moment and contribute to the “It’s All About Love” Toys For Tots online campaign at www.toysfortotsdrive.com .  This campaign is working to raise monetary contributions to support the annual toy drive.  As a thank you gift, those donating $10.00 will receive a digital copy of J.C. Lee’s (daughter of Stan Lee -Marvel Comics fame) ebook “It’s All About Love – The Lee Family,” a family photo album featuring never before seen home photographs.  It’s All About Love – Please Contribute To Toys For Tots This Season.

“We’re excited to participate in this wonderful campaign to support our Toys for Tots program,” said retired Marine Major Bill Grein, Vice President of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.  “While we receive many new, unwrapped toys for deserving youngsters, monetary contributions supplement our efforts and help support our program. It also helps us provide additional gifts for those ‘hard to buy for’ teens and pre-teens.  We are very grateful to J.C. and Stan Lee for their generosity and support of our 2015 campaign,” he added.

Since its founding in 1947, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program has collected over 494 million toys fulfilling the Christmas dreams of over 230 million less fortunate children. It has been supported by numerous celebrities including First Lady Michelle Obama.

“100% of the net proceeds raised from the online campaign will be used to support the Toys For Tots program,” said Alain Nguyen, “It’s All About Love” campaign chairman. “We would like to raise $1 million and are reaching out to the comic book community and general public for their participation.”

Contributing online is simple and easy and a great way to assist the Marine Corps Reserve in helping families give their children a memorable holiday.” Grein said.

Won’t you join me in taking a moment to donate to Toys For Tots?  ‘Tis the season!

Quick and Easy Halloween Fun! - Ann Again and again Reviews

Say your daughter plans months in advance for her Halloween costume but gives you a couple of hours to prepare for a party she’s planned … without telling you about it?! I’m happy that my girls like Halloween, I would just like to have a bit more time to prepare for a lively group of children converging on my home. (Maybe it’s better this way though ;-> ) So, while I run to the store for food to feed the little Spooks and Ghouls I tell my daughter to use items we have at home and come up with quick and easy Halloween fun.

I came home to find Pumpkin Bowling:

  • Pins made from Cottonelle Triple Roll tissue
  • Imitation pumpkin from craft store serves as the bowling ball
  • Objective: Stack Cottonelle 3 rolls high. Two tries to knock down “pins”. One point for every roll knocked down.

I thought I’d add to our decorations and create Candle Mummies:

Hilary Swank Joins Duracell And USO To Honor Children Of U.S. Military Families

Hilary Swank, Mackenzie Nilson and the “star” of the movie The Teddy Bear

In honor of Independence Day, Duracell has launched a new short film to shine a light on the children of military families and announced a partnership with the United Service Organization (USO). The film, The Teddy Bear, inspired by a real military family, tells the story of a young girl and her beloved battery-powered teddy bear that has the ability to record voices. Her teddy bear is her way of staying always connected to her father during his deployment through the comfort of hearing his voice. Two-time Academy Award-winner, Hilary Swank, shared her support of the program as the daughter of a service member herself; her father is a retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant.

You can view the very touching short movie, The Teddy Bear here:

Since the war in Afghanistan began in 2001, more than 2 million American children have had a deployed parent, according to the “Military Children and Families” report conducted by Princeton University/Brookings (Fall 2013). Many of them have seen multiple deployments, 3, 4, or even 5 family separations, making the USO’s “Comfort Crew for Military Kids” program important and something Duracell is proud to support.

For those that serve, and for their families that await their return – Thank You!  Happy Independence Day!

My Best Kept Secret For Stress Relief

If there’s a health issue affecting my family I prefer to go the natural, holistic route first and see where we are. With regard to things that factor into our days I do my best to keep us organized as to avoid stress however, as the saying goes “The best-laid plans of mice and men all go awry” and *boom* the heart is pumping, the mind is flustered and a bit of anger might creep in. Years ago I found a product that has not only helped me in times of stress but helped my teenage daughter’s with anxiety – Dr. Bach’s original flower RESCUE Remedy. (See coupon offer at bottom of post.)

Made in Switzerland, created by Dr. Edward Bach, RESCUE Remedy contains Rock Rose, Impatiens, Clematis, star of Bethlehem and Cherry Plum, specifically blended to help you face daily stresses or emergency situations in a better frame of mind. My purse usually has a supply of RESCUE Remedy gum – orange flavored with an elderflower liquid center – that contains the 5 Bach flower stress relieving ingredients. It’s a light, delicious taste that helps relieve tension – and the chewing helps me too!

http://annagainandagainreviews.com/2015/03/10/my-best-kept-secret-for-stress-relief/
Yes, this is what I consider “organized”

For my daughters, having gum isn’t always a good idea say, while they’re in class where it isn’t allowed. Since this situation brings most of their anxiety and stress – giving speeches or taking an important test – my teens use RESCUE Remedy Pastilles.

RESCUE-Pastilles-A texture blend of hard candy and a gummy bear, these black currant flavored pastilles hold the same 5 Bach flower stress relieving ingredients that help them to calm their mind and focus at the task at hand. No side effects and not habit forming. Stress is a part of life, finding a positive way to handle this feeling will only benefit you and those around you. How do you handle stress?

I have been using the Bach remedies for years and recommend you try them for yourself. They are available in a variety of formulas; gum, lozenges, liquid tincture and sprays. You can purchase them at Walgreen’s, CVS, Whole Foods or Sprouts. They will be in the Sleep Aid section or the Whole Body section of these stores. The prices range from $5.95 to $9.99.

Headphones By Sol Republic - Tracks Giveaway!

I’d like to share how much we (although my daughter Lily is hogging them ;-> )  are enjoying the new SOL Republic Tracks headphones.  And I have a giveaway for you to win a set for yourself!  Read on!

Now that the school year has started it’s time to get my daughter’s homework stations organized.  And this area isn’t like their Momma’s homework desk, that’s for sure!  All I needed (back in “the day”) was lined notebook paper tucked in my Pee-Chee, the class subject workbook, a pencil and light coming from a flickering candle made by hand.  (Yes, I exaggerate about the light source but if my girls read this I want them to know how lucky they are ;-> )  Now we have laptops, printers and music to help them get motivated.  Their choice of music is different so headphones are in order.  We’re trying a set, Tracks, from SOL Republic and everyone is enjoying the results!

I’ve never been a fan of ear buds and my youngest feels the same about putting things in her ears.  SOL Republic has a headset that is gentle on the ears and provides a clear, good quality sound – SOL Republic Tracks.  The headband is made of FlexTech which makes is pliable, bendable and feels softer on the head, a great feature for those that have sensory issues of things being too tight.  I found the sound to be clear with a slight rich bass quality.  My youngest is so happy with them they became a staple for our outings.  (‘Lily, will you take them off for the picture?’ I ask. “No, they’re comfortable” she says.  Ok then!)

With regard to helping her focus on homework, she can actually concentrate better is she listens to music while studying, or writing a paper.  These SOL Republic Tracks headphones make it so she can plugin to the laptop and do her homework anywhere.  We have a little house so it’s great that our family’s conversations won’t get in the way of homework getting done.

Seasonal Relief Solution with Zarbee's Naturals - Ann Again and again Reviews
“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Zarbee’s Naturals. I received a promotional item and a product sample as a thank you for participating.”

It was two weeks ago, the rain had stopped, the sun was shining and I was ready for my daily writing.  While sitting in front of the laptop I looked out on the beautiful day and thought ‘Hey, how about opening a window?’  The congestion came about 10 minutes later followed by sneezing.  What the heck?  So not fair, the weather is gorgeous and I want to enjoy it.  I’m 4 days into trying a product, along with my trusty nasal saline spray, that is helping my system get relief from seasonal symptoms and I’m REALLY happy with the results from using Zarbee’s Naturals w/ Butterbur.  You can give this product a try as well with a free sample.  Read on.

Seasonal Relief Solution with Zarbee's Naturals - Ann Again and again Reviews

My 13 y/o also deals with seasonal suffering, which makes it really hard to enjoy our fiercely competitive Badminton games ;-> , and I was having difficulty finding an over-the-counter product that provides relief without side effects.  To not produce drowsiness is one thing, but zinging around your day with your heart slightly pounding isn’t any better for my daughter, or me.  My daughter and I have been taking Zarbee’s Naturals for 4 days and have experienced no side effects, just an ease in our breathing and fewer sneezing fits.  Nice.  We’re not hyper, or tired, just ourselves  –  our non-congested selves.

Zarbee’s Naturals is for children 12 years and up.  The pills are small, with a slightly sweet coating, that makes them very easy to swallow.  I have a sensitive stomach and have had no discomfort taking this pill on an empty stomach, or with food.  Zarbee’s Naturals is made with Butterbur Ze339 – the purest form of the plant extract.  (Fun fact:  Butterbur got its name because farmers once preserved butter by wrapping it in the herb’s huge, heart-shaped leaves.)   Zarbee’s Naturals manufactures the nation’s #1 natural cough syrup and a complete line of family-safe health and wellness products free from drugs, alcohol, gluten and dyes.

This Spring Zarbee’s really wants Americans to learn more about the benefits of Butterbur that Europeans have known for years.  Zarbee’s would like you to visit their Seasonal Relief Project and receive free samples of Zarbee’s Naturals, along with natural wellness tips and educational information.  And get this, for every sample requested of Zarbee’s Naturals, the company is donating to three causes that support exposure to and the protection of fresh air which includes:  Fresh Air Fund, Children & Nature Network and Moms Clean Air Force.  When you visit www.SeasonalRelief.com and sign up to receive a free product sample funds will be directed to organizations that will help send a child to Summer camp, get a child outdoors or clean up the air we breathe.  What a fantastic way to give and receive!

Before taking Zarbee’s Naturals I researched Butterbur Ze339 and found consistent reports of at least 90% relief in trial patients.  I had three doses before having my 13 y/o try Zarbee’s Naturals.  We both found congestion relief from the first dose.  Once you receive your free sample, and discover your lovely congestion relief, you can purchase Zarbee’s Naturals at Target stores and CVS.  10-tablet pkg $8.99 and a 30-tablet pkg. is $18.99.  For those days when seasonal congestion is getting the best of you give Zarbee’s Naturals a try.  And when you do, let me know how it worked for you!

*Update:  I finished my supply of Zarbee’s Naturals and went 3 days without this product, or any other congestion relief product.  One the first day my nose was plugged and I was uncomfortable.  I purchased Zarbee’s yesterday and I’m back on track to breathe through my nose.  Yay!  Zarbee’s, along with saline spray, works great for me.  Get your sample (link above) and let me know your experience.

Hello my fellow Oregonians!  And All Aboard! THE POLAR EXPRESS comes to life this holiday season as the Mt Hood Railroad rolls out of the station bound for the “North Pole!” Come early and climb aboard with your family to cozy-up and enjoy our festively-decorated vintage train cars. Dancing chefs deliver hot chocolate and a cookie to each guest to savor while music from the Polar Express movie plays en route to the North Pole. Make sure to have your tickets handy, because your conductor will be by shortly to punch each child’s ticket.

Before arriving at the North Pole, the iconic book, The Polar Express is read as your Chef turns the pages to share the beautiful illustrations in the original book. With the station far away, THE POLAR EXPRESS magically arrives at the outskirts of Santa’s North Pole village, where Santa Claus himself and his elves joyously welcome the train! As you stay comfortably settled and warm in your seat, Santa and his helper elf board the train! During the return trip, Santa will greet each child with his signature holiday spirit and the first gift of Christmas: a bell cut from his sleigh. It is said that only children and those who still believe can actually hear the bell ring. Join in the singing as your Chef or Conductor lead Christmas caroling on the 30-minute return trip.

Getting Ready For Summer Camp Fun

summercamp

Summer is here! If you have a teenager like mine, you’ll be packing plenty of shorts and sunscreen for a much anticipated week at camp. My daughter went away to her first camp when she was 11 and she was hooked. When Spring rolls around I hear, “Have we booked any camps for me yet?” I love that she looks forward to her time in the great outdoors.

This year she is wanting to visit a new camp, she’s ready for new discoveries. I’ve found the online resource at TipsOnTripsAndCamps.com incredibly helpful. You can look up various camps based on your child’s age or by camp interest. Not all camps are directed at swimming and hiking, you can also be directed toward camps that specialize in learning a foreign language or community service opportunities.

When you visit TipsOnTripsAndCamps.com you’ll find attention paid to your questions from a panel of personal advisors that are located in the area of the camp. They help guide you toward finding an experience that’s just right for your child. You have many choices to help create a summer to remember and the helpful panel at TipsOnTripsAndCamps.com will help make your planning a breeze.

Great Idea For Family Game Night

All of the “family friendly” shows and situation comedies cannot generate the kind of fun and laughter our family has when we gather together for our weekly Game Night.   In the beginning it wasn’t easy trying to pry our children away from the computer and personal game players but now they look forward to a night of friendly competition, with a cup of hot cocoa on the side.
When it comes to board games I feel it’s good to keep in mind the personalities of your children to make for a more pleasant evening.  In our household our children have two very different personalities when it comes to competition.  One child gets stressed very easily, so I’ve learned not to choose games with timers.  And our other child isn’t comfortable with their drawing ability so, in order to avoid a lot of whining, no Pictionary for us.  (Which is a shame, because I love that game.)
One game that has fit the age range of our children, and has been highly entertaining for us all, is The Logo Board Game.
Ann Again... and again Reviews board games
This game is noted to be appropriate for the ages of 9 & Up, however I feel younger children would do just fine in this game as well.  The Logo Board Game is very good at sharpening your observational skills.  And, with our average play time ranging from 45 minutes to an hour-and-fifteen minutes, this suits our children’s involvement level just right.
I’ll never forget the first Game Night where we had to stop the game because I was laughing so hard.  My husband is very funny, I do believe, and while we were playing Mad Gab he thought his team could understand him better if he talked like a robot, a hilarious mono-tone that had me crying with laughter.  We brought that game out for Thanksgiving and shared my husband’s “secret” to a quicker team win.  Not only did it work, I’m sure the hysterical laughter helped create a very memorable Holiday.  Games help make fun family memories, and there’s no time like the present to start a family game night of your own.
