Oregon Field Guide 25th Anniversary Celebration at World Forestry Center
Surrounded by birds chirping, virtual logging trucks and tree trunks over 200 years old the celebration to honor 25 years of OPB’s Oregon Field Guide was right at home at The World Forestry Center in Washington Park. Host Steve Amen was welcoming and charming with his conversations and OFG’s producers and camera crew were happy to share their stories of favorite episodes and efforts that go into achieving the perfect shot. My husband and I really enjoy watching Oregon Field Guide and hearing about the trials of climbing the trails and the care in telling the tales made me appreciate it all the more.
We enjoyed a delightful wine and appetizer hour in the main lobby of the World Forestry Center. The evening continued in the Harry Merlo hall to meet the crew of Oregon Field Guide. We were treated to a sneak peek of an episode featuring a treasure in our own backyard that has been a bit of a “inner circle” secret for years, but will now come to light on the premiere episode which airs October 8th. Hint: It has something to do with Mt. Hood, and you will be surprised. So exciting!
The highlight of my night was realizing I’m surrounded by people who love the state of Oregon as much as I do. I may not be the intrepid hiker, camper, or fisherman but I do appreciate the glorious beauty of this state and I love the connection I feel to my fellow Oregonians when I watch Oregon Field Guide. Be sure to watch the season premiere Tuesday, October 10th on your local OPB station.
Rob, the happy Logger!
