Two Giveaways from 9Lives at Ann Again and again Reviews!

Cats and I have a lot in common. The biggest factor is S-L-E-E-P. I’m always trying to get more of it and make the most out of what time I do get. So I had a thought… why not ask someone who’s truly an expert on the subject; someone who spends more time snoozing than most of us spend at work? I’m talking, of course, about Morris the Cat!

He’s taken time out of his busy schedule to be my Guest Post-er for the next couple of days and answer some reader questions about the very im-purr-tant issue of sleep. What’s more, he’s offering fans the chance to win a Morris-shaped, human-sized plush bed AND a year’s supply of 9Lives cat food. Just go to his Live Well & Prospurr website http://prospurr.9lives.com/ to enter.  And, very importantly, you can learn how you can help Morris feed hungry kitties with just the click of a mouse. (Click of the “mouse”. Get it?  Somebody stop me!)
Let’s see how my Guest Poster help those that need help in the Sleep Department –

Two Giveaways from 9Lives at Ann Again and again Reviews
Dear Morris,
I’ve been experiencing difficulties with falling asleep, tossing and turning once my head hits the pillow. I don’t get it because I feel tired all day at work; then I come home, brush my teeth, flip on the TV, and just… lie there. I’m hoping I can learn from the expert. Morris, what am I doing wrong?
Sincerely,
Sleepless in San Fur-nando
Two Giveaways from 9Lives at Ann Again and again Reviews
Dear Sleepless in San Fur-nando,
Your case, unfortunately, is not at all uncommon. When you’re going all day long at the speed of a cheetah, it’s no wonder your mind darts around like a red laser dot at bedtime. Luckily, as a cat, I spend up to 140 hours per week sleeping and I can tell you there is hope! For starters, I notice you mentioned turning on the TV before bed. Cats don’t watch TV – this is partly because the majority of us can’t speak English that well, but mostly because it interferes with our snooze time. Scientifically speaking, the ‘glow’ emitted by an electronic screen enters the brain and slows the release of melatonin, the hormone that helps us sleep. So next time you want to turn on the tube before bed, try counting sheep instead – or better yet, mice!
Kitty hugs,
Morris

Sam The Cat Decorates His Christmas Tree – Video

We had a cat adopt US over the Summer. I went out to the patio, sat down for breakfast and *boom* there are two green eyes staring at me from the end of the table.  I saw how incredibly thin he was and couldn’t resist feeding him. (Ms. Tender Heart here!) This little guy was so hungry that he ate 2 cans of food at a time. This eating habit brought about his name (courtesy of my husband) Two-can Sam. Get it? Toucan Sam?  From the Froot Loops cereal?

After a visit to the vet we found no chip and no neighbors claimed him from “Lost Cat” postings.  Sam chose to stay on our patio, in our yard, and would never leave.  Sam wanted to be a part of our family and we accept.  (It’s taken a while with our oldest daughter but our youngest is SO happy!)  When the weather turned cold Sam decided to move from our patio to the inside of our house.

We discover more about his personality as the days go by. He keeps to himself, yet also likes to know that we’re around.  So far he’s very, very quiet. While we were decorating the Christmas Tree, he observed from the recliner, resting on his cozy blanket.  The next day I brought a little tree next to his food dish.  Below you’ll see how he chose to decorate his little tree, with a toy mouse.  Sweet Sam.

Morris The Cat Shares An Easy Way To Help The ASPCA!

Morris The Cat Shares An EASY Way To Help The ASPCA! - Ann Again and again Reviews

I’m taking “Guest Posting” to a whole new level now.  Move over, Dear Abby… 9Lives’ Morris the Cat is here to reveal advice on the issues you really care about, like yarn unspooling, feather chasing, and more!

A bona fide celebricat since he began doing commercials in the 1970s, America’s favorite ‘charmingly choosy’ feline has launched a “Dear Morris” column to help cats and humans alike make the most out of playtime. What’s more, Morris is also giving Ann Again and again Reviews readers the chance to win a one-of-a-kind, customized 9Lives bean bag toss game at his Live Well & Prospurr website.  Also, to help felines waiting to be adopted at your local ASPCA, if you tweet #MorrisFeeds, Morris will donate a bowl of delicious 9Lives cat food to a hungry kitty at the ASPCA!  How great is that?!

From Morris’ Mailbox:

Dear Morris,

I’ll be the first one to tell you I’m a playful guy. I like yarn, stuffed mice, boxes… you name it. But my human is never in the mood. Something about ‘work’ or ‘being tired,’ blah, blah, blah… meow, meow, meow. I try to tell her that a piece of string doesn’t wiggle itself! Alas, since my human will not play with me, I’ve taken to reading Proust… and trying to catch my own tail.

Sincerely,
Furry and Frustrated

Morris The Cat Shares An EASY Way To Help The ASPCA! - Ann Again and again Reviews

Dear Furry and Frustrated,

I’ve seen your case all too many times. Humans are often tempted to blame their unplayful attitude on ‘being too busy,’ but that’s rarely true. (Even the president plays golf!) What many humans don’t realize is that we cats don’t require a long, drawn-out play period. We like small bouts of play interspersed with two of our other favorite activities, resting and napping. So gently remind your human with a head-boop or a soft meow that you’re ready for some action—she can start off slow with Level 1 of my “Official Guide to Amusement, Entertainment, Playtime & More”(http://prospurr.9lives.com/). Also, tell your human to be on the lookout for when your tail is in an inverted “U” shape (like in the photo below). That’s a tell-tail sign (get it?!) that she should bring out the toys. Remember, fun is contagious… once your human sees what a blast you’re having, she’ll likely take some more time to enjoy herself as well.

Yours truly,
Morris the Cat

Dear Morris,

I recently went to the pet store and came back with tons of new toys for my cat, Marvin. I was so excited to share some quality playtime with him that I could hardly wait for him to eat dinner! After he finished his 9Lives Plus Care (he’s a huge fan, by the way), I started waving his new toys around, but he just stared at me blankly—I got zip, zero, zilch! Morris, where did I go wrong? Does Marvin not like playing… or worse, does he not like me??

Thank you,
Confused in the Catskills

Morris The Cat Shares An EASY Way To Help The ASPCA! - Ann Again and again Reviews
Dear Confused in the Catskills,

You’ve got nothing to worry about. I’m sure Marvin loves playing and I know he loves you. This was merely an instance of poor timing. You see, cats are often reluctant to play after mealtime. No one wants to jump around on a full stomach… even if you’re eating healthy with 9Lives Plus Care! The best time to play with Marvin is after he’s had a nice, long nap, and if he loves napping as much as I do, you’ll have many opportunities! And remember to make time for fun human games as well, like checkers, cards—or my personal favorite—cat’s cradle. The two of you will have mastered Level 5 of my “Official Guide” in no time.

Yours truly,
Morris the Cat

Morris The Cat Shares An EASY Way To Help The ASPCA! - Ann Again and again Reviews

Dear Morris,

I’ve always considered myself a “cat’s cat.” I’m a champion napper, an expert invisible bug chaser, and my hairballs? I can cough one so big you could use it as a toupee. That’s why I’m so distressed by what I’m about to tell you: I’ve never once caught that feather that dangles on the end of a stick. I see it, I lunge for it, and just when I think it’s within paw’s reach, it darts away again. It frankly has me questioning my cathood. What should I do?

Warmly,
Purr-plexed and Paw-ndering

Morris The Cat Shares An EASY Way To Help The ASPCA! - Ann Again and again Reviews

Dear Purr-plexed and Paw-ndering,

It’s not your fault you haven’t caught the feather. What I’m about to say may come as a shock… there is a human on the other end of that feather, manipulating it like a marionette. It’s a conspiracy of gigantic proportions. You’ve never caught the feather because your human has never let you. If any of you humans out there are reading, please let your four-legged friends ‘win’ some of the time. It’s great to have a competitive streak playing a board game or on the ball court, but let us felines experience the sweet taste of victory (it actually tastes a lot like 9Lives). Besides, catching the feather, ball, or string will get your cat one step closer to their ultimate goal: world domination.

Yours truly,
Morris the Cat

The Honest Kitchen - Healthy Dehydrated Pet Food - Ann Again and again Reviews - Smooches Dog Treats

While my family settles into the new year, we are not only recovering from a very busy season of celebrating the holidays and hosting 3 birthday parties (whew!) we are also helping our dear Chocolate Lab Benny recover from ingesting 4 pounds of chocolate.  Yes, 4 pounds!  One evening, while attending a gathering, we mistakenly left a 4 lbs. bag of M&M’s too low to the ground and Benny devoured it by the time we returned.  Benny spent Christmas day in the pet hospital and, with great care and attention, he is home and returning to his happy spirit.  What a scare!!!

His diet is gradually re-introducing the foods he should be eating, and he is responding very well.  We were offered the opportunity to try dog treats from The Honest Kitchen and Benny is enjoying his treats and his system is responding very well.  It’s nice to see his tail wagging again!

As per the information that was sent along with our review sample, The Honest Kitchen uses a dehydrated process to naturally preserve the ingredients without the need for chemicals of any kind.  Dehydration is a gentle technique that removes only the moisture and retains most natural nutrients found in fresh, raw, whole food ingredients.  All ingredients are 100% human-grade, made in the USA and contain no corn, soy, rice, beet pulp or wheat. All meats are hormone and antibiotic free, fruits and vegetables are certified non-GMO, and grains are 100% organic.   Additionally, every box of food is made with love, in a human food facility in Illinois (not in a pet food plant) for the highest possible quality standards. Humans actually taste every ingredient that goes into these recipes as part of the product development process.

Our family looks forward to many, many more years with our sweet Benny (a.k.a. Banjo. a.k.a. Benjamin Thatcher Harrison).  We hope he’s learned his lesson that, although he’s  classified as a Chocolate Labrador, that doesn’t give him permission to actually ingest chocolate.   Enjoy The Honest Kitchen instead! :->
